Born July 3, 1940 at Bolt, WV; he was a son of the late Sherman W. Elder and the late Myrtle Bhrizendine Elder.
Ronald enjoyed watching NASCAR and racing, and bicycling. He was a coal miner at Kessler Coal for more than 13 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley P. Elder and step-son Kenneth Allison.
Those left to cherish his memory and continue his legacy include his two daughters, Rhonda and Cindy ; a son, James "Jimmy" Elder, stepchildren, Debra James and husband, Allen of Covington, GA, Terry Allison and wife, Libby of Bolt; Michael Allison of Calhoun, GA, and Kathy Stenson of Lester, WV.
Services to celebrate the life of Ronald Dean "Bad Eye" Elder will be held June 1, 2026 with Pastor Allen James officiating. Following the services Ronald will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
Friends may gather with the family from 11:30AM until time of the service at 12PM at the funeral home.
