Ronald Gene Stewart

Ronald “Ron” Gene Stewart, 68, of Crab Orchard passed away peacefully May 14, 2015 at Bowers Hospice House surrounded by his family, after a long battle with esophageal cancer. Born December 10, 1946 in Matheny, WV, he was the son of the late Benton and Virginia Stewart. Ron was a member of the Matheny United Methodist Church and the Loyal Order of Moose Beckley Lodge 1606. He was active for many years with Oceana Little League, Matheny Grade School Sports Boosters and Oceana High School Sports Boosters. Ron was an avid golfer for many years and loved spending time with his three grandchildren. He had worked at Stevens Clinic and Oceana Medical Center. He was a retired coal miner working for Eastern Associated Coal Kopperston mines for 27 years. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 47 years Debbie Stiltner Stewart, his Son Brice and wife Melanie Stewart and granddaughter Zoe of Beckley WV, his daughter Krista Stewart and granddaughter Morgan and grandson Noah Mason of Germantown MD his Brother James Stewart and wife Sue of Barboursville WV, his sister Drema Caudill and husband Jeff of Matheny WV, his friend and neighbor Bill Bishop of Crab Orchard, WV and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial Service will be held 6:00 PM Tuesday March 19, 2015 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home in Beckley with Pastor Ronald Accord officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be sent to Bowers Hospice House, Beckley WV.
