(6/10/1972 - 7/7/2025)
Ronda Kay Gross passed away quietly and peacefully after courageously battling cancer.
Ronda was the daughter of Dallas Keith Hannah and Carol Sue Ratliff Hannah who preceded her in death. Mr. and Mrs. Hannah resided in Shady Spring where they raised Ronda and her older brother, Richard “Richie”.
Ronda is survived by her husband, Sam Gross (Daniels, WV) and two sons, Cameron (Durham, NC) and Luke (Daniels, WV) as well as her brother Richie (Beckley, WV).
Ronda is a 1990 graduate of Shady Spring High School and a 1994 graduate of Shepherd College (now Shepherd University) where she graduated Cum Laude with degrees in Finance and Fashion Merchandising. Upon graduation, she married Sam, who she had met in high school and then immediately began her career. Ronda was employed by Boston Trader and then Levi Strauss Co. in the Blue Ridge Outlet Mall in Martinsburg, WV. Soon after, she shifted her focus to the world of finance. She was then employed by First Union Bank which underwent acquisitions, becoming Wachovia and ultimately Wells Fargo. She was a Senior Relationship Specialist and had an excellent team around her. She worked in that capacity for numerous years until her entire team moved to F&M Bank of Winchester, VA. When her mother passed away in 2022, she gave up her career to care for her brother Richie, which she did with the same love and care her mother provided right up until her last day.
She loved her sons, Cameron and Luke, dearly and enjoyed nothing more than watching them play baseball throughout their youth. She also loved to decorate her surroundings and home and had an immensely creative eye for this craft.
Most importantly, she was a faithful follower of Jesus. She deeply believed in His gift of grace and that of forgiveness. One of her greatest gifts was compassion for others as she always cared more for their well-being than her own. While she will be missed by her family, we know she is in the arms of her Lord and Savior.
A celebration of Ronda’s life will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Jason Lowe officiating. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
Ronda will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
