Roy Jay Lucas

Roy Jay Lucas, 52 of Beckley, went home to be with his Lord, Thursday, March 17, 2016 following a long illness. He was the son of the late James Lucas and Elizabeth Taylor Lucas. He was born October 21, 1963 in Raleigh County, WV. Roy was a member of St. Mary’s United Methodist Church. He was a proud member of the United Methodist Men, RCHA & FCHA. He was a 4-H Allstar. Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses and anything to do with children and his family. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother, James Lucas. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Roxie Wagner Lucas of Beckley; mother, Elizabeth Taylor Lucas of Raleigh, WV; daughter, Selena Lucas of Shady Spring; brother, Ernest Lucas and wife Leisa of Pipestem and sister-in-law, Martha Lucas of Beaver along with many nieces and nephews. Friends may gather with the family in a celebration of Roy’s life Monday, March 21, 2016 from 5-7 pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Services will be held 7pm, Monday, March 21, 2016 at the funeral home with Rev. Rick Waller and Dr. Sharon Miller officiating. Burial will follow with a graveside service 2pm, Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Cemetery in Wana, WV with friends to serve as pallbearers.
