Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was centered on her family and, most importantly, on Christ. She was deeply cherished and will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and the love she gave so freely to those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Edna Causey, and her siblings, James Causey, Audrey Waddell, and Jenny Smith.
She is survived by her children, Bill Hutchens, Rick Hutchens and wife, Teresa, Charles Hutchens, Kim Akers, and Joe Hutchens and wife, Kara; she also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, her two brothers, Roy Causey and William “Pee-Wee” Causey; and many nieces and nephews who loved and adored her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley from 11:00AM until time of the service at 1:00PM. The service will be officiated by her granddaughter’s husband, Rev. Dr. Ben Blackburn.
Shirley’s legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured and the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
