Tim Lee Wyatt had what Eugene O'Neill, in his play of the same name, called a Touch of the Poet. A Touch of the Poet is seldom something anyone can gain through practice or acquisition. It is a gift that is innate and something with which special souls are granted from birth. Tim Wyatt had that rare Touch of a Poet. When anyone with this gift starts speaking or teaching, folks stop what they are doing and listen because they want to learn from the best, a wonderful story teller. God bless and God rest Mr. Tim Lee Wyatt, my 11th Grade History Teacher at Washington-Lee High School, my mentor, and my friend of 48 years.

He was the best teacher ever and changed my life. I’ll always be grateful to him.

I never had Tim as a teacher, but seeing his passion for his topics of interest him and how he influenced his students, he must have been one of those illuminating and facilitating the path for others.
I have enjoyed his friendly conversation and sense of humor, and when instead of his opinion, he gave you, opening his eyes and shaking his head, a universal truth only reserved for people with clear intelligence.
I have always felt loved, valued, and comfortable in his company, as you can only feel with a father or a great friend.
I feel lucky to have walked a piece of this road called life with Tim.

To all who knew and loved Tim Wyatt,

Tim leaves this world with many sons and daughters.  His influence on the  lives of others and the strength of his character lives on through his students, his family, his friends, and his colleagues.  

My Uncle Tim  was a man of principles and a student of history. He was also charming, extremely funny, wise, unique, and amazing.  As I search for words to celebrate his life I find myself profoundly thankful that he is my Uncle Tim.  I say this in the context that he fulfilled the role of loving uncle, trusted confidant, inspirational leader, wise elder, best friend, and loving family member with all who were blessed to have him in their lives.

I lift my voice to celebrate his life and mourn our loss.  I offer my deepest heartfelt condolences to all who have loved him and lost him. Though Tim has left this earth and joined our Heavenly Father in heaven, his influence lives on through all of us. 

I am so very thankful to have known him and I will remember the lessons that he taught me and the life he shared with me.

Mr Wyatt was one of a kind teacher and a great friend throughout the years!!  Shared many lunches and beers  I remember when he bought his latest jeep that had role down windows vs electric just in case he went off a bridge going to west Va.  I can get out of  the car if in water!!   Haha!!  I loved his passion for WVU - he approved my son in law as he is a WVU grad too!!  RIP my friend!!!  I will miss you !!!

Mr. Tim Wyatt was my 11th Grade American History teacher, my supervising teacher for student teaching, and an actual colleague for one precious year of my career, all three experiences at Washington -Lee High School in Arlington, Virginia. He was also a wonderful friend and mentor of 48 years.
Tim had what Eugene O'Neill and others called a Touch of the Poet. A Touch of the Poet is a gift and talent very few have naturally or innately. Some can practice it but few can master it. When the Poet speaks, folks stop talking, they listen, they learn, because they want to remember the knowledge and wisdom The Poet is imparting. Tim Lee Wyatt had a Touch of the Poet, a rare gift.

The lunches at the All American Steakhouse were always great. Tim would typically get a 1/2 rack of ribs and a couple Coors Lights. The rest of us would eat & enjoy listening to him talk about history, college football, or anything else. Tim would always bring dinner back to Susan.

Three former students who were lucky enough to have Tim as our mentor at W-L. The highlight of my teaching career was to call Tim a colleague for nine years.

Minor league baseball games were a lot of fun with Tim & Tom. There's nearly 100 years of combined W-L teaching experience in this picture. 

Tim was my favorite teacher and the reason why I became interested in education as a career. He was a great friend and the most interesting person I've ever met. Other than my father, he was probably the most influential person in my life. I'll miss him very much.

Every now and then, a gifted teacher comes along who makes a profound and lasting impact on his students...Tim Wyatt was that kind of teacher and mentor. I am just one of thousands of his former students whose life was touched by this talented educator. His calm demeanor, humor, and depth of knowledge inspired in many a love of studying our American civilization, and becoming life long learners of history. His life made a difference, and I was so saddened to hear of his passing. May God grant his family comfort and peace.
