

Barry Kevin Palmer, 62, of Abingdon, Maryland, passed away suddenly on February 18, 2025, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, Barry was the son of Melvin L. Palmer and Marguerite A. Palmer (née Geary). He was a lifelong resident of Harford County.
Barry was known for his big heart, warm hugs, and infectious humor. He found joy in exploring nature, fishing, kayaking, and playing his favorite music at full volume. Family was central to his life; he was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, and brother. Barry cherished his role as Poppy to Asauney, Sophia, and Olivia, who were truly the light of his life.
He worked as a land surveyor for 37 years and took great pride in his contributions to local construction projects including Camden Yards. He was an avid Orioles fan and was ever hopeful for the next World Series win.
Barry is survived by his wife, Alicia Gill Palmer; his daughter, Caroline Palmer Wellington and her husband, Asauney; his son, Kevin Palmer; his brothers, Bryan and Bradley Palmer, along with their families. He is also survived by extended family, including Helen and Thomas Ferguson, and his brother-in-law, Rob Gill. He passed peacefully, surrounded by those who loved him.
Barry will be remembered by all who knew him for his love and dedication to family and friends.
A receiving of friends for Barry will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc., 610 W MacPhail Rd, Bel Air, MD 21014. A memorial mass will be held Friday, February 28, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Margaret Church, 141 N Hickory Ave, Bel Air, MD 21014. An inurnment will be in Bel Air Memorial Gardens, 809 Rock Spring Rd, Bel Air, MD 21014.
