David was one of the kindest gentleman I worked with.  I loved his laugh.  He saw the good in everyone.  David would take the annapolis park secretaries on field trips...always a lot of fun!  Geri, he always spoke so lovingly of you.  I'm so sorry for you and your family.

Knew David all the way through Jr. High and Sr. High at Freeport   As fine a Gentleman as you would ever meet. Always smiling and never said a bad word about anyone.  One of the best athletes to ever attend Freeport. It was my great privilege to have known Dave. Again the finest gentlemen I have ever known. This saddens me so. David was my supervisor for years and after reading Michelle Longs condolences it brought me back to a good time. A man of kindness, grace and amazing sense of humor. He taught me a lot about life’s path. Some of us went to his home to visit after he had a surgery. What a wonderful visit it was because we met the love of his life Geri and got to see her amazing shoe closet he told us about. Rest in peace kind sir.

Oh my goodness. I’m not sure where to begin. I first met David when I came to the Park Service as an intern. I ended up staying at the for 10 years. I worked for David all of those 10 years. He quickly became more than a boss to me. He was always kind to everyone and looked out for me like I was one of his own. When I got married, he was there the day before helping us set up the tent and getting prepared for the wedding. It was pouring down rain, and Dave was out there getting that tent up for me and putting straw on the ground to soak up the rain. He and Geri came to the wedding the next day. We had more conversations  about life and making good choices than I could even begin to count. 
Last year, when  my husband was ending his battle with cancer, I called Dave. I guess I was just thinking about all the people that you come across in life and you want to make sure they know how important they are to you.  I looked up his number and I called. Geri answered the phone and she was just as joyful as Dave. She was happy I called and we caught up for a minute and then she yelled, “David, Michelle is on the phone!” It was like going in a time machine back to 1990. I was able to tell David how much he meant to me and how much his support helped to shape my life. I am so glad that I made that phone call. 
I will always remember David’s laugh, his calm demeanor, and him telling me to put a rubber band around my head and snap out of it. 
Much love to his beautiful family. He loved you beyond measure.

As a Park Ranger, I had the honor of working with Dave on various assignments on a regular basis. His huge smile always brightened up our space whenever we met. I was fortunate to have numerous conversations with him about the park service and life in general. 

He was a true gentle-man, whose wisdom and care for others were unparalleled. Whenever or wherever he was present, he was a true sage who made others' life experiences even better. He will be sorely missed. 

My sincere condolences go out to his family, friends, and loved ones. May we be reminded that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in the time of storm.” Psalm 46

David was a wonderful coworker and a valuable ontributor to the mission of the Maryland Park Service. His calm demeanor and engaging personality will be sorely missed.  My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

David was a true gentleman. I didn’t have a ton of Interaction with him but what I did have was always positive. He always had a smile and a kind word. Prayers up for his family.

David made my life better simply by knowing him. He worked for people who worked for me and for a long time his office was right next to mine. That enabled me to really get to know David. 
He was a joy. His spirit, character and personality inspired people around him, and especially people who worked for him, to do their very best. 
David had one of the best laughs in the world. I would try to say or do things to make him laugh and, because my office was right next to his, I got to frequently hear his laugh. I also got so I could imitate his laugh, especially the high pitched “haaaaaa” at the end. David would laugh and I would exclaim the “haaaaa” before he could so that would stop him in mid laugh. 
The truth, I loved David for the person he was and admired him greatly. 
My condolences to those who loved him most, his family and closest friends. The world is not as good a place with David no longer among us.
