John Francis Kirkpatrick

Born July 23, 1946 in Washing D.C. to Amelia Billota Kirkpatrick and Ed Kirkpatrick

John has Two brothers, Ed and Robert Kirkpatrick.

He attended school in P.G. county and graduated from Bladensburg High School.

He was married to Patty Mulville in 1966, and they had two children, Laurie and Cynthia in later years. John served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army from 1967-1968. John received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star during his tour in Vietnam. When he returned to the U.S., he attended University of Maryland, where he received a Bachelors in Education. He felt the best way to make a difference in this world was to work with our youth. He taught history, civics, psychology, and geography while coaching basketball, golf and softball in P.G. county high schools.

He divorced in 1980 and met and married his beloved wife Pat Bagley Kirkpatrick. He embraced her two children Chuck and Becky as his own. They have been married for 29 years. John and Pat were best friends and soul mates, an inspiration to all four of their children and anyone who befriended them.

He received a Master’s in education from Goucher College and became a High School administrator at Parkdale in P.G. county to teach and guide children.

He lived his life always expressing his love, living with honesty, integrity, passion, and compassion. He will be missed, and those who know him will feel his sprit everywhere. This world is blessed to have had him here.
