On May 20, 2026, Kathleen “Kathy” Elizabeth Woernle (nee Ritchie) passed away peacefully at the age of 81. She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore Hewitt Woernle; devoted mother of Mark Adrian Woernle, Kathleen deChantal Johnston, her husband Timothy Gabriel, and other daughter Elizabeth Magri Hoey; loving grandmother of Christopher William, Margaret Elizabeth, Sean Ritchie, Nicholas Timothy, Reif Patrick, Kaya Elizabeth; dear sister of Adrian “Buddy” Ritchie, and his wife Margaret Ann.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc., 610 W. MacPhail Rd, Bel Air, MD 21014, on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 533 E. Jarrettsville Rd, Forest Hill, MD 21050 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Kathy’s name to a charity of your choice.
