Laura Kate Strother Crowder, originally from Valley, AL and recent resident of Abingdon, MD, died October 29, 2013. She was 84 years old. She is survived by four of her five children, Lauren, Olin, Gretchen, and Lucien, and two grandchildren, Justin and Otis. She was predeceased by her eldest son, Eben. Her husband, Charles Rodney passed in 1998. She was the daughter of Charles and Kate Strother.
Laura was an English teacher in several states and school districts across the years.
She was an avid reader, who also enjoyed daily walks, and a variety of radio and television programming including classic movies, Prairie Home Companion, British soap operas, and academic game shows.
