

Sharon Ann Grose, age 60, of Jarrettsville, died on February 8, 2013 at her residence in Jarrettsville after a long battle with breast cancer. She was the beloved wife of James B. Grose. They celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary last summer.
Sharon Grose was born on August 23, 1952 at Havre de Grace Memorial Hospital, daughter of Leonard Cornwell and Frances Kelner. Mrs. Grose is a graduate of Bel Air High School and Harford Community College. She then attended Towson State College where she earned her degree in Sociology and Secondary Education. She started her career at Harford Community College working with GED students. She then went to work for Harford County Public Schools, primarily working at Fallston High School. She then earned a graduate degree in School Counseling from Loyola University and worked for six years at Fallston Middle School as a school counselor. Mrs. Grose continued her career as Coordinator for Drop Out Prevention and the Assistant Supervisor of Drug Prevention Education. She retired from Harford County Public Schools after enjoying 32 years of service.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her father, Leonard Cornwell of Orlando, Florida; her mother, Frances Kelner and step father Donald Kelner of Port Charlotte, Florida. She is also survived by her brother, Timothy Cornwell of Atlanta, Georgia, and his children Carrie Lynn Cornwell and her husband Dan Dowell, and Christopher Cornwell of Harford County.
The family will receive friends at the Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc., 610 W. MacPhail Road (at Route 24) on Saturday February 16, 2013 from 2-4 pm, at which time a memorial service will be celebrated. Interment: Private.
