

On February 26, 2014, Stephen Charles Trageser, 64, from Bel Air, MD died due from complications from ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Oct. 30, 1949 to Charles Trageser and the late Rita Trageser. He graduated from Archbishop Curley High School and Towson State University with a degree in biology. He was a teacher in Baltimore County for one year before being employed by Maryland State government, in the Health and Mental Hygiene division. He was initially working in the Immunization unit and then for WIC for over 30 years. After retiring from the state, he worked at Wegman's in Bel Air at the customer service desk- a job he truly loved! He is survived by his wife of almost 42 years, Donna Trageser, whom he married on April 15, 1972. He is also survived by their 7 children, Tamara Shay and Michael Cochran, Teena Trageser Keppler, Timothy Trageser and wife Christina, Danielle Fador, Brianna Hallman and husband Josh, Airman First Class Dante Trageser and JenniGrace Trageser. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren. Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by his son, Corey William Trageser, who was born and died in 1976. Steve enjoyed salt-water fishing, was a Trekkie, and truly loved spending quality time with his family. The ALS may have taken his body, but he refused to let it take his mind and amazing spirit.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc., 610 West MacPhail Road (at Rte 24) on Saturday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm, where a funeral service will be held on Sunday at 1 pm.
