Dorothy Lucile Lacy, 102, passed away November 15, 2019. She was born November 23,1916 in Lincoln County, KS to her parents, Arthur and Nina (Schoch) McAlister. Dorothy was graduated from Grandview High School, and worked for two years as a school librarian before becoming a homemaker. She married Urless Lacy and they had 5 children. Dorothy and Urless were married for 73 years.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Urless; their son, John Lacy; her brother, two sons-in-law; a daughter-in-law; three granddaughters and one great-granddaughter. She is survived by her daughters, Martha Edwards, Dorothy Railey, Carole Thomas (Danny) and Eva Parrott (Jim); 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and her loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Wednesday, November 20 at McGilley & George Funereal Home in Belton, MO. Visitation: 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Funeral service at 12:00 pm, followed by burial in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Stanley, KS. Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great- and great-great grandmother and will be dearly missed. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Dorothy's name to Serenity Care Hospice, 1626 E. Elm, Harrisonville, MO 64701.
