She peacefully spread her wings to join her loved ones who had gone before her on January 10, 2025.
Maxine was born in Nevada, Missouri, to Bert and Ellen Swartz. She graduated from Grandview High School and was happily married to Leo "Cotton" Fryman for 67 years. Maxine spent most of her life living and working in Grandview, Missouri, before she and Cotton moved to Belton in 2012.
In her spare time, Maxine enjoyed traveling, visiting the lake, crocheting, and baking. They were especially proud of their son, Brian, whom she and Cotton adored. Brian’s exceptional talent as an organist brought joy to many. Maxine and Cotton were active members of the Free Will Baptist Church.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband Cotton, her son Brian, her mother Ellen Campbell, father Burt Swartz, her sister Mae Corey, her nephew Don Corey Jr., and her niece Donna Drinnon, brother in law Don Corey Sr. She was deeply loved by many extended family members.
Maxine is survived by her devoted niece, Rhonda (Faron) Roschevitz, who was both her supporter and caregiver, as well as Kelby, Kolton (Mallory) Roschevitz. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She was deeply loved by many extended family members.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all who supported Auntie with love, kindness, and patience. Too many to name, but may you all be blessed.
