

George was born in Omaha, Nebraska April 27, 1946, was raised in Kansas City, Missouri and lived for the last 50 years in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. He was known by family and friends as George, “Big” George, Dad, Grandpa George, and of course Big Pops.
George graduated from Paseo High School and went on to earn his Associates Degree from Longview College in his adult years. The majority of his career was spent working in the grocery business. He also spent some time working for the Postal Service and Lockheed. He had always loved watching and going to sports including the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. He was very proud to have been a Chiefs season ticket holder since the mid 1960’s. In addition to watching and listening to sporting events, in his younger years he did coach little league baseball and umpire.
George is survived by his son George, Jr.; his daughter Danielle, and her husband Bryan; grandchildren Connor, and wife Nikki, Cassiti, Casey, Cooper, Carter, and Corbyn; great granddaughter Kendall; brother John, and his wife Charlotte; sister Sharon, and her husband Jody; former wife Carole Sue, and several nephews and nieces.
A casual graveside gathering is scheduled at 2:30 pm on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Forest Hill Cemetery, 6901 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO 6431.
