Janet Lee VanGrootheest, 58, of Belton, MO, went home to be with the Lord November 14, 2015. Visitation 1-2 pm, Funeral service 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 18, at Rock Brook Church, 1715 E 173rd, Belton. Burial in the Belton Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Wayside Waifs.
Janet was born in Kansas City, MO January 8, 1957. She was raised and lived in the Belton/Grandview area. Janet’s role as a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother is what defined her. She will forever be remembered for her thoughtful gestures and her ability to put others before herself. Janet loved animals, enjoyed playing music, taking photographs, and had a heart for children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Doris Skeens. Janet is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, Greg; children Matthew Brown, Christopher Brown, and Jennifer Byrd; sister Kathy Rhea; grandchildren, Tegan Byrd, Charly Byrd, Ethan Brown, and Meredith Brown.
