Born April 19, 1939 in Kansas City, Kansas, Janice was the daughter of the late Alexander Krupco and Catherine Krupco. Janice graduated from Argentine high school in 1957 and married John on September 18, 1959. They settled in Belton where they raised two sons, Kevin Owens (Angie) of Peculiar and Brian Owens (Jane) of Grain Valley. Known for her caring and loving personality, Janice loved her family and found joy in hosting large holiday gatherings. She was often considered the heart of the family and was most happy when she was surrounded by her loved ones.
Janice retired as a Corporate Secretary after 25 years of dedication to Professional Mutual Insurance Company. Janice loved to bowl and make quilts for family members. She also found joy in going to garage sales on the weekend.
She is survived by her two sons, seven grandchildren: Michael Stanfield (Tabitha) of Springfield, Nathan Owens of Independence, Shalayne Koeppel (Maria) of Peculiar, Spencer Owens of Grain Valley, Alyssa Owens of Grain Valley, and Ian Noah and Jon Noah of Kansas City, as well as seven great-grandchildren. Janice is also survived by her sister Veronica Etter of Lee's Summit, and five nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband John, she was preceded in death by her brother Richard Krupco and her sister Gloria Krupco.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 29, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at McGilley & George Funeral Home, 611 Chestnut St., Belton, MO. A private family graveside service will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation at www.parkinson.org.
