Joan Laura Vaughn

Joan, 88 years of age, passed away November 13th, 2020. Joan was born February 24th, 1932 to parents Walter and Clara Vesta Vaughn in Jay, Oklahoma.She was the third of four children. She's joined in peace by her two older brothers, John and Don and she's survived by her best friends and sister Susan whom she had been experiencing life with since they made the big move from Southwest City Missouri to KC mo in 1957. The sisters eventually settled in Grandview Mo where she found her life long friends and congregation at the Grandview United Methodist Church Joan dedicated over 45 years of her life to Hallmark working as a graphic designer. She retired from Hallmark and continued to stay involved in the company through the years. Joan spent a substantial amount of her time and money serving non profit organizations and charities. Later in life, Joan put her retirement on hold to adopt her two great nieces and completely devoted the last years of her life to family and motherhood. Joan always helped with all the kids in the family including spending a great deal of Laura and Mike's childhood heavily involved with them. Joan had a servants heart throughout her whole life and we should all strive to live by the amazing example she has set forth for us. Family was by far the most important thing to her in life and we all should remember that and honor her, even in her passing. Learn to let go and let God and love each other. Joan is proceeded in death by parents, Walter and Clara Vesta. Husband, Bill Nelle. Brothers, John and Donald.

Joan is survived by sister, Susan. Niece and nephew Laura and Mike. Great nieces and nephews.. Christina, Greg, Jesse. Joans adopted daughters, Jaden and Audra, and her great great nephew Tron and great great niece's Ashlee and Kaidence. And great great great niece and adopted grand daughter Rory. All whom she loved so much.
