Keith Wayne Parks, age 67, of Belton, Missouri passed away March 1, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Keith was born in Kansas City, MO on April 2, 1956, the son of Glen Parks and Mary Ann Parks. As a child, Keith enjoyed going to the lake and Uncle Bill's farm with his family. He graduated in 1974 from Belton High School. After graduation, he worked as an NC/CNC machinist at Nu-Tech Industries, Payne Manufacturing, and Numerical Control Support (NCS). Beginning in 2000, he worked as a programmer and inspector at Honeywell Aerospace in Olathe, KS and transferred to Honeywell FM&T in 2008, where he retired in 2020.
Keith married the love of his life, Cathy Jones (aka Jonesy) on March 4, 1978. Together, they were blessed with their son, Kyle and daughter, Amy. Raising the kids, he was involved with coaching little league baseball and basketball. You could always find him behind the video camera at dance recitals, school and sporting events, and family vacations.
Wherever Jonesy was, was Keith’s favorite place to be whether it was relaxing at their condo in Branson, on their back deck in their “fort” enjoying happy hour, at monthly lunches with his sisters and their spouses, or at Cathy’s parents house for a visit or family party. He had a servant’s heart without hesitation, always taking the initiative to lend a hand if he saw a need. Keith was loved by so many golf and fishing buddies, neighborhood friends, and former co-workers. He was a member of the CrossRoads United Methodist Church where he served on the Good News Production Team. He also served his community as an alderman for the City of Belton, as a member on the Zoning Board of Adjustments, as a member on the Belton Cemetery Board, and as a docent at the Belton Museum.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Glen Parks and Mary Ann Parks and his granddaughter, Abigail Estelle Brown.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Cathy Parks; two children, Kyle Parks, and Amy Brown (Lucas); four grandchildren, Kaleb Parks, Brooke Yoss, Brody Brown and Levi Brown; four siblings, Bonnie Denby (Dan Rowe); Terry Parks (Jocelyn); Peggy Lemmon (Rick DeWitt); Karen Walker (Mel Stevens) and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral at 11am on Friday, March 8, 2024, at CrossRoads United Methodist Church at 515 E. Markey Pkwy. in Belton, MO. Following the services, burial will be held in the Belton Cemetery in Belton, MO.
