Michael Ray Conner, 75, of Belton, Missouri was taken home by his Savior Jesus Christ, on Thursday, May 9th, 2024. He was born August 22, 1948, in Woodward, Oklahoma, to Clifford Ray & Bonnie Dean (Weir) Conner.
Mike had a degree in Drafting, & worked as a draftsman, & product designer until his retirement in 2012, from Ruskin Manufacturing, in Grandview, Missouri. He also served in the Army, including a year in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star, at the ultimate rank of E5 Specialist.
He loved to serve his community as long as his health allowed. Mike was a volunteer Captain in Belton Emergency Management Agency for 54 years. He also volunteered for the organizations C.O.P.P., (Care of Poor People), in Kansas City, under the direction of Richard Tripp for many years. As well as a volunteer for the Salvation Army, Grandview & Belton Food Pantries, The Family Resource Center, & Heart 'N Hand, in Belton. He worked part-time for the Apple Bus Company for the Raymore School District for a couple of years following his full-time retirement.
Mike was preceded in death by both parents, Clifford Ray & Bonnie Dean Conner, & his brother, Dan Conner.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Diana Conner, of the home; sons, Brian (Michelle) Howerton, Jason (Julie) Conner, & Marcus (Sarah) Conner; daughters, Amelia (Conner) (Matt) Myers, & Rebecca (Howerton) (Mason) Edmonds. Also grandchildren, Ashley (Howerton) (Sam) Hays, Leanna Howerton, Ella Gordan, Jensen (Conner) (Jack) Springer, Jillian Conner, Joclynn (Conner) (Luke) Bizzell, Jaiden Conner, Abbie Conner, Colby Conner, Devon Myers, Haley Myers, Michael Edmonds, Payton Edmonds, & Anna Marie Edmonds; & three great-grandchildren, Easton Hays, Madigan Springer, & Wyatt Springer. One aunt, Lucille Henderson, Cameron, Missouri; "adopted" sister, Pat Hutchinson; foster brother , Daniel Woodruff; niece, Nancy (Conner) (David) Durden; numerous other nieces, nephews, friends, church family, & many first, second, & third generation cousins he had become very close to after annual family
reunions in Woodward, Oklahoma, for many years.
