Remelia Ariz Ramsey

Remelia Ariz Ramsey, 78, Belton, Missouri passed away after a long battle with breast cancer at 3:10 am on Friday, December 2, 2016 with her daughter by her side. She was born Remelia Ariza Delizo in Naguilian, La Union Philippines on May 22, 1938 to Emiliano Banayat Delizo and Regina Campos Ariz. Her mother died during WWII. Emiliano remarried and her step-mother was Tarcila Banina. Remy, as she liked to be called, met John Robert Ramsey in 1962 at Clark AFB, Philippines. They were married on February 8, 1963 at the court house in Naguilian, La Union Philippines. Later that year, she left the Philippines and moved to Patrick AFB, Florida. After living in several different states they made their home in Belton, Missouri where they lived for over 38 years.

She is survived by her husband John Ramsey of 53 years of marriage, Diane Sawyer - daughter, Hugh Sawyer - son-in-law and Emily Sawyer - granddaughter, sisters Dina Delizo, Angeles Abenoja, Elena Delizo and Sister Marie Belle all of the Philippines, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in the Philippines and around the world.
