

June M. Rogers, 82 of Lecanto, Florida died on Friday, December 10, 2010 in Gainesville, Florida. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on Saturday, June 29, 1928 to Fred and Ruby (Robinson) Bauer. June was a retired clerk with the U.S. Postal System. She moved to this area in 1981 from Miami, Florida. She was a former president with Family Community Education of Citrus County Extension Office with the University of Florida, Co-founder of the Cracker Quilters, a member of the Citrus County Computer Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, the Mayflower Society and participated in the Adult Literacy Program. June was a dedicated volunteer who gave tremendously to the community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. Rogers, Sr. in September of 2009.
Survivors include her sons, James Pierce of Arizona and Walter C. Rogers, Jr. and wife Marsha of Lecanto, Florida; daughters, Karen S. Munroe and husband Michael of Alachua, Florida and Cynthia Long and husband Jim of High Springs, Florida and two grandchildren, Alexander Munroe and wife Emilie of San Francisco, California and Amanda Munroe of Portland, Oregon.
Visitation, Tuesday, December 14, 2010 from 12 Noon until 2:00 PM at Fero Funeral Home, 5955 N. Lecanto Highway, Beverly Hills, Florida 34465. A Mausoleum Chapel Service will follow at Fero Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
