

Anne was born on April 23, 1943 to Sarah Bowers and Gordon Girling. She attended high school at Hialeah High School. After graduating high school, she volunteered with the Peace Corps.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1975 and worked as an obstetric nurse until the early 1990’s. In 1993, she earned her Library & Information Science Master’s Degree from Pratt Institute. She utilized that degree to start a second career as a medical librarian for Alaska Native Medical Center. She retired in June 2007.
Anne had many hobbies including traveling abroad, sewing beautiful quilts and watching her favorite (Boston & Miami) sports teams. She was an avid reader. She loved being a mom to her many cats over the years but one could argue that moose were her favorite animal.
She is survived by her brothers & sister, David Girling (predeceased wife Ann), Catherine Guillarmod (predeceased husband Denny), John Girling (Shelley), and sister-in-law Dolores Maresca. She is predeceased by her brother, George Girling and her sister, Virginia Acton (Wade).
She is survived by nieces & nephews, Catherine Jan Girling, Douglas Edward Girling (Deborah), Christine Behrmann (Walter), Jennifer Anne Wright (Shane), Lori Bisson (Shawn), Janice Marie Goulette (Michael), and Justin Girling (Katie). She is also survived by many great nieces & nephews, Ian Bisson, Nicholas Bisson, Hannah Fauver, Chloe Fauver, Colton Girling, Jarrett Fauver, Chase Girling, Addison Crosby, Beau Girling, Maylie Girling, & Vincent Goulette.
A celebration of life will be held in Port Charlotte, FL at a later date.
