My name is Shirley Platt and I had the honor of knowing Maria for a short time but I always enjoyed her spunk and spirit.  I was with her on the last night of her life, and she was still trying to live life her way.  She asked me for some hot tea, and when I tried to help her drink it she told me she could do it herself.  She wanted me to bring her orchid plant closer so she could enjoy it, then told me to go home.  I want to state that she lived her life the way she wanted and I will always remember her fondly.

In our hearts, the memories of our grandmother/mother-in-law will always have a particular place.
She was a great person and will be missed by all of us every moment.

I mourn the loss of my beloved mother-in-law and a good friend. She always was a positiv thinking woman , despite her illness.
We had a wonderful time together .
