

He was born in Memphis, TN, on November 9, 1946. He grew up in Springfield, MO.
Michael graduated from Southwest Missouri State with a MS in Computer Science and Mathematics. BS in Psychology.
He was married to Cathleen Rose McCarty, whom he met at the United States Pentagon. Michael and Cathleen were happily married for 33 years.
Michael enlisted in the US Army in 1969 and was stationed at the US Army Hospital in Asmara, Ethiopia. He received an honorable discharge as an E5 in 1972. Since the Army interrupted his college degree, he returned to college to complete his degrees. He joined a small construction company in Springfield, MO where he learned to build custom homes. After he completed his degrees, he moved to Washington DC to work for the Federal Government, Department of Defense. Upon entering the DoD, he worked for the Defense Information Systems Agency, assigned to the US Pentagon where as a project leader in the National Military Command Center for the Crisis Management Action System. He was transferred to the Joint Chiefs of Staff and relocated to Suffolk, VA where he became the Technical Director for the Requirements Assessments within the Joint C4ISR Battle Center. He was hand selected to move to the Office of Prototyping Oversight to facilitate the development of new joint capabilities. He retired as a GS-15 from the DoD in 2014 after receiving many awards including the Joint Civilian Service Commendation Award.
Michael was a member of the American Mensa Society (the largest and oldest high IQ society for people who score at the 98th percentile or higher). Michael had a passion for music. He sang in many church choirs as well as the Arlington Virginia Metropolitan Chorus. His voice was heavenly. He also played the piano. Music was an important part of his life. He would listen to rich melodious music.
