

Raymond Rene Girard born in Lawrence Ma on July 4, 1921. As a young boy he moved with his family to Stratford, CT. Lived and raised his family in Stratford, CT until he retired to Beverly Hills, FL in May 1985. He served in the Navy as Gunner's Mate Second class during World War II (Aug 6, 1940 - Aug 5, 1945) in the Pacific. Returned to service to serve in Korea (June 7, 1951 - September 27, 1951) Mr. Girard worked in NY, New Haven, & Hartford RR Co. as Air Brake man and also worked out of the Stamford yard. (1951-1957). He ended his career at the Department of Transportation, Bureau of Highways in CT (March 11, 1957 - February 31, 1983). Memberships include, Seniors Friends for Life, The Vikings Group and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He was Predeceased by his wife, Lorraine Blais Girard; Father, Edmond Girard; Mother, Marie Bernier Girard; Brothers: Robert Girard, Russell Girard, Roland Girard, Roger Girard, Richard Girard and Royal Girard. Survivors include his partner, Astrid C. Grant; Children: Lois Girard, Denise Mrozinski(Richard), Mark Girard (Amie), Maureen Frimpter, Alan Girard(Connie), Lisa Rieger(Michael), Lora Kokoszka(Robert), Raymond P. Girard; 13 Grandchildren and 10 Great grandchildren; Sister, Marcella Girard LaRue. A memorial service will be held Monday at 2 PM at Fero Funeral Home.
