

Raymond L. Hannifan, 88 of Beverly Hills, Florida died on Monday, May 7, 2012 in the loving care of his family. He was born on Wednesday, November 28, 1923 in North Providence, Rhode Island to William and Margaret (Youhess) Hannifan. Raymond was a retired supervisor with General Dynamics in Groton, Connecticut. He was a seasonal resident of this area since 1988 and moved here permanently in March of 2005. Raymond was of the Catholic faith and was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Navy aboard the Lexington. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and was a member of the Elks Club in Rhode Island. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots sports fan, coached softball for his son's youth league, enjoyed working in the yard, building, especially the family home in Rhode Island, dining out and dancing with his wife, Rita.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Hannifan in January of 2005.
Survivors inclue his sons, Stevan Hannifan of Berlin, Germany, Gary Hannifan and wife Susan of Palmyra, Virginia and Kevin Hannifan of East Providence, Rhode Island and daughter, Cheryl A. Hannifan of North Providence, Rhode Island.
Inurnment will take place at a later date in Rhode Island.
