Richard John Heymans

Captain Richard John Heymans, age 68, of Lecanto, Florida, passed away on December 30, 2025. He was born on May 28, 1957, in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. Richard earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Stout and received a master’s degree in construction management from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Richard proudly served as a tanker pilot in the United States Air Force for 12 years, achieving the rank of Captain. Following his military career, he became the owner and operator of RiverHaven Marina in Homosassa. He was married to his beloved wife, Lolita P. Heymans. Richard is survived by his wife; his children, Joslin (Blake), Andrew, and Ricky; his grandchildren, Kendall, Ellie, and Layla; his brother, Chris Heymans; his sister, Laurie Heymans; and his mother, Barbara Heymans. A Catholic Prayer Service and Military Honors will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Fero Funeral Home, Beverly Hills, Florida with Deacon Mark Manko officiating. Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Air Force and the Marine Corps League Citrus Detachment #819.
