Stephen L. Hopkins, 55, of Hernando, FL, passed away on Sun., March 22, 2015 at his home. A native of Oxford, England, he was born March 24, 1959, the only child to George and Evelyn (Stammler) Hopkins. Steve was an employee of Dick’s Sporting Goods in Ocala, FL at the time of his death, but had also served as a liquor department manager for Albertson’s, first in Clearwater, FL, then in Ocala. Mr. Hopkins moved to Hernando in 1993 from Seminole, FL and as an avid airboat owner, was a member of the Citrus County Airboat Association. In addition to his father George, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 6 years, Sherrie Hopkins, on May 10, 2014. Steve is survived by his mother and stepfather, Evelyn and Ernest Van Horn, Hernando, FL; stepchildren Kelli-Ann Wallace ( Robert) and Krista Johnson(Michael), both of Clermont, FL; Kasi Kaneshige(Melanie Porter), Beverly Hills, FL; Ian Kaneshige(Heidi), Toms River, NJ; Erik Kaneshige(Trinity), Beverly Hills, FL and Ryan Kaneshige, Hernando, FL and stepgrandchildren Kortnee, Madison, Zackery, Sydney, Elizabeth, Meghan, Jayden, Caleb, Camron and Norah, as well as stepnephew Nicholas.
