Virginia S. Wolf, aged 89, of Beverly Hills peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 3, at Hospice House of Citrus County. A long-time resident of Pine Ridge, she moved to Citrus County from Port Vue, Penn., in 1987, and worked for many years as a staff assistant for Pine Ridge Service Corp. Virginia was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, frequently attended daily Mass, served on several church committees, and was one of the leaders of a community Christian Bible Study. She enjoyed cooking, baking—especially during the holiday season—solving crossword puzzles, and beating her children and grandchildren at “Words with Friends.” Affectionately known as “Mama” Wolf, she was loyal to her faith, family, and friends.
Born in North Braddock, Penn., on Feb. 3, 1929, Virginia was one of four siblings born to the late Leopold Schwaed and the late Gertrude Nerger Schwaed, and attended St. Thomas High School where she graduated valedictorian of her class. Virginia enjoyed dancing with her friends, and would later meet her future husband, William P. Wolf, at an evening dance at Kennywood Amusement Park in Pittsburgh. They were married on May 13, 1949, at St. William’s Church in East Pittsburgh, and would successfully raise 12 children.
Additional to her husband of nearly 40 years, she is preceded in death by her sister, Gertrude Schwaed; brothers, L. Jerome Schwaed and William Schwaed; and grand-daughter Valerie C. Post.
She is survived by her children Deborah A. (Carl) Betten of Bel Air, Md.; William R. (Gerry) Wolf of Portland, Maine; Margaret M. (Robert) Bizila of Irwin, Penn.; Anita M.
