Allen Claude Foster III

Allen Claude Foster, III, 88, passed away on April 22, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Foster; parents, Allen C. Foster, Sr. and Janie Speer Foster; and sister, Joe Anne Foster Sturdivant. Allen is survived by his children, Suzanne Maldonado (Joe), Blair Foster (Emily), Becky McCaa (Duke), Michael Phillips (Evelyn), and Randy Sellers (Hee Jeong); grandchildren, Brittany Ellis (Brad), Delaney Terry, Kevin Anderson (Shelby), Corey Sellers (Alyssa), and Mia Sellers; great grandchildren, Rowan Ellis, Elizabeth Ellis, Ayla Sellers, Adley Sellers, and Alaina Sellers.

He began his career at Consolidated Pipe & Supply Company in Birmingham in 1967 and retired in 2001 as the Senior Vice President of Sales in the Utility Division after 45 years. He sat on the Board of Directors, even after his retirement. In 1981, Allen helped to design and build Vulcan Plastics in Athens, Alabama where he served as the President for 35 years until 2000 when he retired, while concurrently serving at Consolidated Pipe & Supply Company.

Allen was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His was a life well lived and loved.

Allen loved Alabama football. He loved antique cars, especially “Hot Rods”, which he showed at car shows all over the south. Allen was also an avid hunter and fisherman, which took him on grand adventures all over the world. He sat on the Board of Directors for the Alabama Wildlife Federation for 27 years (1998-2025). Allen served as District Director and Director Emeritus during that time. He was a member of Operation Game Watch Committee, Birmingham Wild Game Cook-off Committee, and sponsored the annual AWF Youth Fishing Rodeo

If you knew Allen, you always knew where you stood and he was always direct in his wishes. With that said, his wishes were to have no flowers sent to his service. In lieu of flowers, he wanted donations to be made to Alabama Wildlife Federation, 3050 Lanark Road, Millbrook, Alabama 36054.
