Allison, you never knew this, but I carried you with me in my heart throughout my life.  The piano study with you at ASFA nourished my love of classical music enough to allow me to return to study 40 years later.  I loved you then, and will continue to hold that love for you. I was taken aback to hear of the passing of Allison Agresti.  She was like a burst of sunshine.  She had a smile and laugh that could light up the room.  She was my high school piano teacher.  She gave me great pointers to successfully complete my senior recital at Alabama School of Fine Arts.  I am extremely grateful that I met her.  She was a definite high point of my high school years.  Rest in Heaven, my dear.

I think of Allison often as I remember my years in Birmingham.  The image that comes to mind is that of Allison leaning over the keyboard,  coaxing the most beautiful sound from the piano, and dressed in one of her beautiful gowns. May she rest in peace.

One of my most favorite classmates at Ramsay when we started together in 1957.She was always smiling and full of energy. My prayers are with you Allison and your family. God bless you.

I first met Allison in 1958 at Ramsay High School our freshman year. Although I didn't see her after graduating, it feels just like yesterday. She was a beautiful and talented young woman. My thoughts and prayers to her family. I know the choirs in Heaven will welcome her with open arms.

I love that photo of Allison! That is how I remember her! So young, so vibrant, so immensely talented, so warm and sweet and grounded! The decades have really flown by since she and I were teenage Junior Miss Alabama contestants hoping to win scholarships in our respective art forms. It is a testament to her greatness that, while other memories have faded, the memory of Allison remains with me after all these years! I am so sorry that she had to deal with this terrible affliction but imagine that she did so with a great deal of dignity and courage. Please accept my deepest sympathy at your loss. I first heard Allison when as a teenager she played a recital at the Clark Memorial Theater (now the Virginia Samford Theater). It helped inspire me to pursue a career in music. I still recall the works she performed: Bach's Fifth French Suite, Brahms Intermezzo in B Flat, Samuel Barber's Four Excursions. I've often told friends she is the greatest musical talent Birmingham has produced. So sorry for your loss.

Allison was a sweet girl I liked a lot.  She had perfect pitch, sang with us in the Ramsay Ensemble, and our Choir Director Mrs. Ruth Scott Parker said she never hit a wrong note on the piano.

Since my own sweet Mother's passing I have come to realize much more clearly that the reality of Heaven is just as much a matter of our basic Christian faith as our belief in the existence of God and Christ. 

If we say we believe in Christ, we must believe that what He has told us is true about life after death in Heaven for all true believers. 

In light of Heaven's actual existence and sure rewards, we can be happy for the gain of our loved ones' who have put their trust in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, despite the sadness of our loss.

We can also be greatly comforted by looking forward to our reunion relatively soon with all those in the Lord who have gone on before us. 

May God give His blessing and comfort as we pray to Him, the God of our fathers and mothers, and put our full faith and trust in His Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the only One Who can give us eternal life.

David, I'm sorry to hear about her passing. He was such a vibrant person. I will never forget the time she played Gershwin's Rhapsody In Blue at the summer Pops series at Samford University. May God go with you at this time.

I took piano lessons from Allison at Birmingham Southern.  I could tell she really enjoyed and loved music.  She was so expressive when she played the piano. I wish I had kept up with her, and have thought of her through the years. She inspired me to continue playing piano throughout my life, and it has been a blessing.  I am sad to hear of her passing.  Am praying for the family.  May God's strength, peace and comfort be with you during this difficult time.

I went to Ramsay with Allison. She was delightful and so talented on the piano. Students enjoyed her performances many times at Ramsay. I'm sorry to hear of her passing.
