Angelo Joseph Bianchi, age 95, of Hoover, Alabama passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 7, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents Damerino and Evelina Garelli Bianchi; siblings Frank, William and Marion Lorino, and son, Dan. He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Marie Lorino Bianchi; daughters Evelyn Price (Joel) and Carol Maxwell (Bill); daughter-in-law Julia Bianchi; grandchildren Brian Bianchi (Joy), Audrey Gumm (Ryan), Jay Price (Melissa), Patti Morrow (David), Chris Price (Mera), Angela Bloodworth (Scott) and John Maxwell. He is also survived by his 16 great grandchildren and a host of extended family.
Angelo was born on March 8, 1925 in Birmingham, Alabama. He graduated from Ensley High School and earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Auburn University. He was a U. S. Navy veteran,
serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He retired from U. S. Steel - Fairfield Works in 1983 after a 33-year career. Dedicated to his Catholic faith and active in various ministries over the years, he was a
member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and a past member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bessemer and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ensley. Angelo was an avid gardener, landscaper, handyman and ballroom dancer. He was a member of the Debonairs Dance Club and the Hoover New Horizons.
The family extends thanks and appreciation to the caregivers and hospice nurses for their loving care and support.
Services will be held at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Hoover on Monday, October 12, 2020. Visitation from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. Burial at Elmwood Cemetery.
