Billy Joseph Martin Sr.

MARTIN, BILLY JOSEPH SR. “JOE”, age 67 of Springville, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Billie C. and Dorothy Martin; sister, Donna Coshatt; and daughter, Terri Martin Bickerstaff. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Elizabeth “Beth” Martin; sons, Billy Joseph “Bo” Martin, Jr. (Mindy), Eric Shockley (Angela) and Eli Shockley (Casey); son-in-law, Dan Bickerstaff; brother, Steve Martin (Cindy); sister, Linda Higgins; brother-in-law, Dennis Coshatt; grandchildren, Heather Harris (Johann), Greg Martin, Marisa Martin, Jeffrey Martin, Jacob Bickerstaff, Caleb Bickerstaff, Luke Bickerstaff, Seth Bickerstaff, Payton Shockley, Coleman Shockley, Emma Grace Shockley and Leah Shockley “expected”; and great-grandchildren, Samantha Harris, Roman Harris, Gabriel Harris and Harley Martin. Joe was a Vietnam Veteran serving two tours and was a member of Central Baptist Church. He enjoyed his 16 years in Masonry with Springville Lodge 280. Joe was a big Alabama Football fan, enjoyed music trivia and attending car and gun shows. His family will receive friends on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 5-7 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. His life will be celebrated at Central Baptist Church on Friday, July 28, 2017 beginning at 11 AM. Grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
