Brigeda Peggy Scozzaro Salerno, 79, went home to be with the Lord on October 15, 2023. She was born March 11, 1944 in Birmingham Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Samuel A. Salerno; her parents Ross and Josephine Scozzaro, brothers Ross (Sarah) Scozzaro, Harry (Pat) Scozzaro, and Highway patrolman Anthony Scozzaro and her sisters Sylvia ( Carl) Ivey, Mary Angela (Robert) Brislin, Ann, Marcella, and Elizabeth Scozzaro. She is survived by her daughter Angela ( James) Smith, and grandchildren Samuel and Elizabeth Smith. She worked for AT&T as a teleconference operator for 40 years. Upon retiring she became a full-time caregiver and later grandmother. Growing up she was a member of the St. Paul's choir, Legion of Mary and multiple charismatic prayer groups. Peggy also serviced the Sunday noon Holy hour at the Chapel of Our Savior at Our Lady of Sorrows for 25 years. Her faith was and will always remain her most wonderful attribute.
A visitation for Brigeda will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church located at 1728 Oxmoor Rd, Homewood, AL 35209, followed by a funeral service from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. A funeral escort will follow to Elmwood Cemetery.
