C. Coleman Daniel, II

C. Coleman Daniel II, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on September 14, 2025. He was born in Birmingham on July 22, 1941, to Kenneth R. Daniel and Virginia Simpson Daniel. He was named for his grandfather, Rev Cullen Coleman Daniel, who was the first president of Birmingham-Southern College.

He is survived by his wife, Linda M. Daniel; brothers, Kenneth R. Daniel, Jr. (Mary) and Robert T. S. Daniel (Caroline); sister-in-law, Anne Daniel; brother-in-law Jeffrey A. McWhirter (Catherine); nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth R. Daniel and Virginia Simpson Daniel, and his brother, Dr. William Daniel.

Coleman graduated from Birmingham University School, where he served as president of his senior class. He went on to attend The University of Alabama, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Coleman proudly served in the U.S. Army and continued his service in the Army Reserves. He later graduated from Birmingham-Southern College with both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Public and Private Management. He was also a member of Omicron Delta Kappa.

His career was devoted to industrial sales and real estate. Coleman served as a board member of the Birmingham Association of Realtors, past president of both the Birmingham Commercial Sales Club and the Alabama Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) organization and was named the 1990 Commercial Real Estate Member of the Year.

Coleman was also committed to civic and community service. He was past Chairman of Alabama Goodwill Industries, Inc., where he served for many years on the board of directors, and a past president of the Harbert Center Management Board. He was an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Birmingham, chairing numerous committees, and a proud member of the St. Andrew’s Society, and a past member of the Chiselers Golf Group. He was also a longtime member of The Birmingham Country Club, and Canterbury United Methodist Church where Linda and Coleman were wed.

Coleman will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and compassion. He had a lifelong love of fishing and was also a gifted cook who enjoyed sharing his talents with family and friends.

The family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care provided by his caregivers, Donna Milton and Sabrina Kennedy, during this past year.
