Catherine L Rich

Catherine Louise Rich passed away Sunday, July 3rd at Merry Woods Lodge in Elmore AL. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest L. Rich; daughter, Shirley Elaine Rich; son, Edward Lee Rich; her parents: Stephen A. and Minnie Farris, and two brothers, James Farris and Stephen Farris. Catherine is survived by her sister, Charlotte (Lottie) Farris Wilson and husband Tommy; brother, Paul Vaughn Farris and wife Kristen; granddaughter, Stephanie Mitchell; grandsons: Noah Bennett Mitchell, and Eli Benjamin Mitchell and many nieces and nephews. She lived in the West End area of Birmingham and was a long time resident of Homewood AL. Her last few years were spent in Elmore AL at the Merry Woods Lodge memory care unit. Catherine was a faithful member of the West End Church of Christ, Palisades Church of Christ and Grandview Hills Church of Christ. The family wishes to offer a special thanks To Terry and Janice Claunch for their care and commitment of Catherine in her last years of life. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 1:00-2:00 at Palisades Church of Christ. A celebration of Catherine's life will follow at the church and officiated by Ray Brunner and Terry Claunch. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Rainbow Omega, 100 Hope Drive, Eastaboga AL 36260. Arrangements under the direction of Johns-Ridout's Mortuary-Elmwood Chapel, Birmingham, AL.
