

Charlie Mike was born on April 13, 1944, in Pratt City, Alabama, to the late Charles Lebon Chancey and Helen Angela Duggan Chancey. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecilia Angela Duggan, Robert Emmett Duggan and Fannie Leola Chancey.
Charlie Mike lived most of his life in Forestdale, Alabama, and was a graduate of Ensley High School. He continued his education at Jacksonville State University. Throughout his life, Charlie Mike worked in a variety of fields and was known for his strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. His career included work as a car salesman, co-owner of Alpha Coal Company, U.S. Pipe and Foundry Company, and LabFirst at Grandview Hospital. He was also the proud owner of Carlisle’s Barbecue and Piece o’ Cake Bakery.
Charlie Mike honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps, a role he held with pride.
A devout Christian, Charlie Mike was a longtime member of Adamsville Church of Christ. His faith was the foundation of his life. He was passionate about sharing the love of Jesus with others and was known for carrying copies of a special prayer called “The Blessing,” which he would gladly give to anyone he met.
Charlie Mike had a deep love for animals, sports cars, John Wayne and Alabama football. He also treasured the time he spent with his son, especially taking him to the horse farm to ride horses when he was young.
He is survived by his son, Chace Michael Chancey (Melissa); his brother, Robert Henry Chancey; his sister, Angela Chancey Wideman (Jay) and many loving nieces and nephews whom he cherished.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 10:00 am -11:00 am at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel. A Graveside Service will follow at 11:00 a.m at Elmwood Cemetery.
Charlie Mike will be remembered for his unwavering faith, generous spirit, love for his family, and his desire to share kindness and God’s word with everyone he encountered.
