MASSENGILL, CHRISTINE "TENA" BRYANT age 95, of Birmingham, passed away on Thursday August 18, 2011. Tena was preceded in death by, the love of her life, her husband of 49 years, Robert E. Massengill, and their son, Robert "Wes" Massengill. She was a graduate of Phillips High School and later became the Director of the Birmingham State Fair Family Craft Center for 25 plus years, she later retired from Norton's Florist as a Designer, after many years of service. Tena was a member of Hillview Baptist Church and member of the Eastern Star, Acipco Precious Memories, Hillview Prime Timers, Zinnia Garden Club of Acipco, and she served as a Girlscout Troop Leader for many years. Tena leaves to cherish her memories her sister, Nancy E. Nance, two grandchildren Wendy M. Vincent and Cynthia M. Garrett (Russ) and three great grandchildren Alex Vincent, Lauren Garrett and Brooks Garrett and special nieces and nephews. Services will be held Tuesday August 23, 2011 at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel at 11:00am, with visitation thirty minutes prior to service. Private family burial will follow. Dr. Bill Wilks officiating services.
