Curtis J. Bassett, Age 71 of Birmingham went home to be with the Lord on April 23, 2022. Curtis is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Bassett Sr. and Ida Louise Bassett and son, Alphonze Bassett (2019); and sister, Tracy Bassett. Curtis is survived by his wife, Teresa J. Bassett; brothers, Bruce Bassett (Michelle), Donald Bassett (Shelia), Howard Bassett, Kenneth Shackleford; sisters, Marita Bassett, Nettie Ivey (Chris), Augustine Brown, Sharlon Greenhow (Ulius), Shirley Briscoe; daughter, Abeba Lamb (Joseph); son, Curtis Bassett Jr. and Michael Bassett; Stepchildren, Tamara Hatcher and Bradley Starks; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. His service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel beginning at 11:00am with a reception to follow from 12-2. There will be a graveside service on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Alabama National Cemetery beginning at 10:15am.
