

CLEVENGER, DAMON, age 81 of Trafford, passed away Monday, March 8, 2021. He was born to Samuel Damon and Lois Cornelia Love Clevenger on November 22, 1939. He was raised in the “Green Station Area” of Birmingham where both his parent’s home and he and his wife’s first home still stand today. During his life he worked at various jobs including: running a gas station that he owned, employed by Clow Corporation with his father and older brother, a rancher at his homestead in Blount County, retired from U.S. Pipe in Bessemer, and continued to manage his family’s trailer park in “Green Station Area”. Wayne was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was well loved and liked by all those who were around him due to his welcoming and fun nature. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Damon and Lois Cornelia Love Clevenger; and brother, Bobby Ray Clevenger. He is survived by his wife, June Clevenger; daughter, Corla Whitfield (Jerome); and grandchildren, Chloe, Nathan, Sarah and Sam. A celebration of life will be held Friday, March 12, 2021 at Clearbranch United Methodist Church at 8051 Glenn Road, Trussville, AL 35173 beginning at 11 AM. Graveside service will be held at Hopewell Cemetery at 9076 Hopewell Church Road, Pinson, AL 35126.
