At six years old Davey was sent out the front door and told to “walk that way” and eventually he would find his way to his first day of school. He soon found himself lost and confused and knowing that if he were to get there, he would have to do so on his own. This is the sentiment he carried with him all his life. It was the sentiment that propelled him to the highest levels of corporate success and achievement and it was what he ingrained into his seven children whom have all achieved resounding success of their own. As many would attest to, if Dave was anything, he was driven. Unable to tolerate mediocre ambition nor stagnation, he was pursuing business ventures well into his 80s. Dave was a committed Christian, having been heavily involved in his church and creating a scholarship program for church youth. He was a father of seven, grandfather of 16, and great-grandfather to many more. His passing will be felt by loved ones throughout the country and in the many communities he impacted. He leaves behind his seven children, Esther Taylor ( Robert ), Pam Barksdale ( Alan ), Kay Lepper ( Bobby ), David Jones Jr. ( Teresa ), Donny Jones ( Debra ), Darrell Jones ( Susan ), Carol Mays ( Scott ), grandchildren, great grandchildren, family members and friends that he loved.
