Dorothy Lee Lavett

Lavett, Dorothy Lee, age 76, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 3, 2011. She was predeceased by her parents, Carl Otto and Rosa Lee Price; her husband Claude Farley Lavett Sr. Dorothy was survived by her sisters Julia Faye Tillman and Mary Carl Warren; her children Melissa Lynne Lavett, Claude Farley Lavett Jr. (Vicki), Carl Shannon Lavett (Carlotta); her grandchildren Danielle Marie Lavett, Stephen Farley Lavett, Nicholas Farley Lavett, Alexis Grace Lavett, Emily Claire Lavett, Christian Price Lavett; and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy graduated from Phillips High School in 1954 and later married Claude Farley Lavett Sr. in 1956. She currently worked at ACTEK Inc., alongside her son and many friends for the past 11 years. She was a proud mother of three children and six grandchildren. She was very much loved by family and friends and will be deeply missed, but we are all comforted in the knowledge that she is now joining many other loved ones in Heaven. Her family will receive friends on Monday, June 6, 2011 from 5-7 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. Her service will begin 2 PM at the chapel on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 with Pastor Blake Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
