Dorothy "Dot" Wood

Dorothy "Dot" Wood, age 93, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Dot was born in Birmingham and grew up in Pensacola, FL. She graduated from Pensacola High School and later went to Howard College (Samford University). She met and later married Clint Wood in 1951 and served as a Pastor's wife in various Churches of Birmingham, Albertville, and Northport. She also worked as a special education teacher in Alabama for 25 years.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Clinton Mason Wood; her parents, Tom and Lucille Pullen; and her sister-in-law Dottie Pullen.

She is survived by her son, Clinton Wayne Wood; daughters, Cathy Wood Gentle (Scot), Beth Wood Leach (Mark) and Lynn Wood Harper (Chris); grandchildren, Christen Leach Thomason (David), John Mark Leach (Rachel), Caleb Harper, Josh Harper (Emma), Hannah Harper Bush (Wes) and Bethany Harper Faulkner (David); great-grandchildren, Daniel, Austin, Matthew, and Ginny; her brother Jim Pullen; brother-in-law, Jess Wood and sister-in-law, Margie Wood.

A visitation for Dot will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Ridout's Trussville Chapel from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Woodward Scholarship Fund making checks out to South Roebuck Baptist Church.
