Mr. Ernest C, Beard transitioned peacefully on January 20, 2016. He leaves behind his wife, Jacqueline Beard, son, Michael (Vickey) Beard of Kingston Tennessee, daughter, Laura (Dale) Hayden of Hoover, four grandchildren, Amy (Kurt) Greene, Nicole Beard, Kathryn (Michael) Trowbridge and Scott Hayden and two great-grandchildren. In addition, he's survived by four step-children, Robert (Leslie) McDuffie, Dennis (Connie) McDuffie, Jack (Nancy) McDuffie and Jill (Danny) Echols. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kenner Beard and his parents and his sister.
A prominent Birmingham home builder, Mr. Beard was an active church member, square dancer and ham radio operator (WD4BXH). The funeral will be held at Ridout's of Trussvile on Sunday, January 24 at 2pm with the visitation preceding from noon to 2. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church in Trussville.
