Ernest Leland Brown Sr., age 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 24, 2019. He was born August 25, 1926. He is preceded in death by his son, Ernest Leland Brown, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Jessamine Chew Brown; daughter, Barbara Mitchell (Dale); son, Billy Brown (Lee Ann); daughter in law, Roanna Brown; sister, Kate Jenkins; and 3 grandchildren, Jonathan Brown, Locke Brown, and Carlyle Brown.
Ernest served during WWII in the Army and upon returning home worked as a Master Electrician with US Steel for 30+ years. He was also a Mason.
The family would like to say a special thank you to his loving caregivers, Janetta and Jaclyn.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 1 PM to 2 PM, with a celebration of life to follow at 2:00 PM at Johns Ridout's Elmwood Chapel, 800 Dennison Ave SW, Birmingham, Alabama 35211. A military committal service will occur on November 27, 2019 from 10:15 AM to 10:45 AM at the Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, Alabama 35115-8632.
