Ginger was born on July 5, 1953, the only child of Terrell and Jean Bledsoe Walker. She loved her kith and kin, the beach, good eats, and great entertainment; especially the music of Three on A String. She had a passion for helping others, knowledge, and enjoying life with those she loved.
She graduated from Berry High School and Auburn University, then served as a hearing officer with Birmingham City Schools for over 30 years. After earning advanced degrees from Birmingham School of Law and Nova Southwestern University, she passed the bar and became an attorney specializing in family and education cases.
She belonged to McElwain Baptist Church, as well as the Order of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile.
Ginger is survived by three sons, their wives, and a grandchild – William, Jessica and Evelyn Rice; John and Brittaney Rice; and James and Leticia Rice.
Visitation will be at 10:00AM and a funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, May 3, 2021 at the Johns-Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel at 800 Dennison Avenue Southwest in Birmingham, Alabama.
