Floye "Lou" Louise (Wood) Gordon

Floye was born July 21, 1931 to Odis and Clara Wood in Birmingham, AL.

She is preceded in death by her parents Odis and Clara Wood, her husband Ernest Gordon, three siblings Marie Bass (Al), Pete Wood (Nancy), Thelma (Sue) Robbins (Sonny), two children Ivan Lynn and Raynella Lynn, five son-in-laws James Caves, Kenny Branham, Jim Bose, Ed Holloway and George Gipson. Two daughter-in-laws Morrow Sue Gordon and Tina Gordon, three grandchildren Ronnie Hudgins, Pamela Caves, and Tamra Lynn Gordon, three great grandchildren Cody Brock, Oneal Brock and Kayla Gordon.

Floye is survived by her children Franklin Lynn (Sarah), Nancy Stephens, Virella Watson (Steve), Ernie Gordon, Joye Burson (Roger), Wanda Brewington (Steve), Maria Caves (Todd Turner), Pandy Bose, Stella Branham, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, as well as many children in her extended family.

A mere child growing up through The Great Depression and WW2, Lou lived a good long life. Long life is God's covenant heritage for all believers. She was a firm believer in the word. She lived by it and raised an army to follow. A mother to any who entered her home, a loving and caring woman. Her love was expressed best in her home cooked meals and hand crafted quilts. She crocheted dozens of Christmas stockings that arei enjoyed each year by family and friends around the world. In her younger years, her free time was spent on her sewing machine, outside with her plants or in her garden. She loved spending time with friends and family. Lou had an uncanny ability to connect to people in a deep and positive way. Many can recall front porch laughter and fly swat reactions. As angels and squirrel figurines were a permanent fixture so was an open invitation. Her home was a safe haven to any and you never went without. As we say our goodbyes, we find comfort in knowing she peacefully joined the angels.
