Forrest Hurley Jones, Jr. of Mountain Brook passed away on Wednesday, April 30th. He had recently turned 95. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 65 years, Willodene Kerr Jones and his parents, Forrest Hurley Jones, Sr. and Edna Mae King Jones. He is survived by nephews, Steve Kerr, Barry Taylor, Randall Taylor and a niece, Kathy Kerr.
A lifelong native of the Birmingham area, Forrest was a 1952 graduate of Auburn University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers where he reached the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He was a longtime “Registered Professional Engineer”, State of Alabama. Much of his career was spent working for James B. Clow & Sons, Rust Engineering and Southern Company Services.
A graveside service will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery on Friday, May 16th. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity in memory of Forrest.
